Saturday morning of the Cheat River Music Festival starts with a 5K run that attracts athletes, walkers and families from West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and beyond. The funds raised support the general operations budget of FOC, helping us to carry out the parts of our mission that cannot be covered by grants. Runners will start and finish at the newly constructed Cheat River Trailhead Park and the course will be an out and back along the Cheat River Rail Trail.
5K participants will receive Saturday entrance to Cheat Fest and drinks/snacks at the race.
2026 Race Registration: January 1st through May 2nd.
2026 Race Timeframe: May 2nd, 2026 @ 10AM
Where: The 2026 Cheat Fest 5K will be held at the new Cheat River Rail Trail Trailhead located at 10922 River Road outside of Kingwood, WV
Cost: $25 for pre-registration, $30 for day of registration
